Voice Casting As a Career

Filed under: Acting — Tags: — admin @ 9:14 pm

Since voice over work does not depend on an individual’s looks it is highly sought after work. While working in this career, the hours are usually much shorter than the typical set workdays. A person who does voice-overs does not have to wear any special kind of make up or hair style. The crews that work in this area are also considerably smaller. However, getting into this type of field can often be difficult. Therefore, to prepare for different types of voice casting projects, the individual should take voice over training classes. While some people may think that these are insignificant or not worth it, they are essential to increasing the actors bookings. Since these classes teach acting, audition preparation, specific breathing techniques, microphone logistics, as well as dialects and accents. The actors can also prepare themselves by making a demo tape/CD for their portfolio. They can make a demo of radio spots, animated characters, and narration samples.
